Hillsborough is excited to offer two Flag Cheer Programs

Travel Flag Cheer & In-Town Flag Cheer

Hillsborough Youth Sports is offering a multiple child discount on Registration Fees.

Please register your children for their respective program then email [email protected] prior to checkout.

Your Work bond fee will also be adjusted to one charge per family (no more then $250 per family) when registering for multiple football and cheer programs.

NEW for 2025 Season!
Check out the Hillsborough Youth Sports Travel Flag Game Day Cheer program – a fun and recreational cheerleading experience for our youngest cheerleaders Kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Join us for an exciting introduction to cheerleading filled with cheers, chants, and performance opportunities that celebrate team spirit and community pride. While we ask for your commitment, rest assured it's achievable for all athletes, with a focus on recreation and enjoyment.

🗓️ Practice Schedule

• Practices start: Week of August 12th

• August Practices: 3 evenings per week (excluding Mondays & Fridays)

• School-Year Practices (Sept–Mid-Oct): 1 to 2 evenings per week
  Schedules will be finalized after the July coaches meeting and Board of Education schedule approval

• Additional practices may be added

🏈 Game Day Info

• Cheers at home games in Hillsborough and local away games within the Suburban Football League Conference

• Games take place on weekends (less than 1 hour of travel time)

• Games will be scheduled for either Sundays or Saturday evenings

🧑‍🏫 Coaching Opportunities

Parent volunteers interested in coaching are encouraged and should register as a volunteer during the player registration process.

• Coaches have varied experience with the sport and include former cheerleaders and interested parent volunteers

• No experience required, though knowledge of the sport is preferred

• All volunteers will be paired with experienced coaches

• Volunteers must upload their Rutgers SAFETY certification card

• All coaches must pass a background check

👧 Volunteers Under 18 Years of Age

• A junior coach must be rostered and must follow the same registration procedures as a rostered athlete

• Junior coaches can earn credit for volunteering

• A form may be required for approval of volunteer hours

• Completed volunteer hours must be turned in to the sports director

💵 Fees

• Exhibition Flag Cheer Registration: $100/athlete
  Register by June 1 to avoid a $50 late fee

• Game Day Uniform: $60 (charged during registration)

• Work Bond: $100/family (charged during registration)
  Refunded after volunteer requirement is fulfilled

👟 Equipment and Uniforms

• Game Day Flag teams are expected to purchase:

  • Cheer sneakers

  • White no-show socks

• Cheer sneakers will be sized for all teams by Village Shoes during an August practice
